Purchased for my 13 yrs. old daughter. She uses it daily to comunicate with her classmates.
These headsets work well with Skype under Fedora 12 / Kernel 2.6.31.12-174.2.3.They were recognised by the system and configured easily through Gnome Sound preferences however for some reason after a few weeks the headphone volume dropped off dramatically. This was correct by resetting the volume through alsamixer. The headsets are adjustable, sound quality is good, and fit well but found that they are a little tight and become uncomfortable after a while (maybe my head is wider than normal). For that reason only I give them 4-stars. If you slide them forward on the ears it helps the comfort.I chose these over a wireless set because I didn't want to wear something transmitting at 2+ GHz on my head for prolonged periods of time.
Wo9rks well right out of the box. Be careful not to pull the earpieces too hard.
I have owned many Logitech headsets and find this one very uncomfortable. On top of that, the microphone is on the left, which makes it awkward.
I owned my previous pair for about 6 months before it broke and figured that it was just a fluke, and then the new pair I bought broke down about a year after that. The sound quality and microphone work fine, but the device has a design flaw that makes it vulnerable to breaking down and becoming useless. The in-line volume control, in both of the headsets of this model that I have owned, has broken in a way that makes my system volume continuously decrease as long as they are plugged in. I did not hit either pair with a hammer or anything. They are just poorly made.
